We are in an economic crisis, and we cannot continue with business as usual. The federal budget must be brought under control by eliminating loopholes and reducing spending to the absolute minimum required to maintain essential services. At a time when families are struggling with rising costs, government must do the same—focus on what is necessary, cut what is not, and restore fiscal discipline.
We cannot sustain current levels of spending while the cost of living continues to spiral—especially driven by sectors like health care that are not functioning properly. Until those underlying cost drivers are brought under control, expanding programs and maintaining unnecessary expenditures only makes the problem worse. The priority must be to stabilize costs first, then reassess what government can responsibly provide.
Any savings achieved through cutting waste and unnecessary spending should go directly back to the American people. I support returning those savings to families earning $250,000 or less, and individuals earning $125,000 or less—ensuring that relief reaches those who are feeling the pressure most. This is about restoring balance: a government that lives within its means, and a system that returns value to the people it serves.
